Artist Displays

Wainwright Public Library is proud to present the works of many local artists!

We like to support our local artists by exhibiting their artistic achievements!  The displays are continually rotating as an effort to showcase a maximum number of artists.  Exhibits have included quilts, paintings, woodwork, photography, crafts and more.  Come in and experience the fantastic talent of our local artists!  If you would like to showcase your artwork, please contact Jodi at the library.

Roxanne DenHollander

Roxanne DenHollander graduated from Medicine Hat College with a Bachelor of Applied Arts Visual Communications applied degree in 2002.  She currently works at CFB/ASU Wainwright, Base Imaging as the graphic artist.  Her work has been displayed in many group exhibits and galleries in the Medicine Hat area as well as in Ontario.  Light and color have been a strong influence on her work and she enjoys experimenting with new techniques.  Because of this, she uses sculpture, printmaking, carving, painting and drawing to satisfy her "what if I do this" cravings.  She also experiments with using recyclable materials and a recent project was making sculptures out of film.

Czar Quilters Guild - February to April, 2009

"Ordinary women stitched together with friendship and sharing."

The Czar Quilters Guild was formed in April of 2001 with 21 ladies attending.  Before that meeting was over they had already outgrown the anticipated meeting place.  The executive positions were filled by volunteers, and the guild set a goal to become a gathering for women of all ages and walks of life.  It remains as a goal to provide an atmosphere whereby all women can attend and participate in a non-competitive, friendly and encouraging manner.  Anyone can join Czar Quilters Guild.  Knitters, scrapbookers, or even those just needing some time away for themselves are welcome.  They meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at Czar Cultural and Recreation Center (Czar Hall) from 10am to 4pm.
