Read for 15 Challenge

January 21 2021

Read for 15 is a literacy project created by the NWT Literacy Council and adopted by Public Libraries in Alberta to promote Family Literacy Day. The goal of Read for 15 is to promote the importance of literacy, and encourage families and community members to read!

Public Libraries have started a friendly challenge to become the "Most Readerly" community in Alberta. The challenge is to have the greatest percentage of the community's population read for 15 minutes on Family LIteracy Day and report to their library.

Join the Challenge!

Help Wainwright become Alberta’s “Most Readerly” community! Read anything (books, magazines, comics, textbooks, social media, a cereal box) for 15 minutes during Family Literacy Day (Jan 27). Post on Facebook using #Readfor15Wainwright, use our website form, email info@wainwrightlibrary.ab.ca or call 780-842-2673 to register your minutes. Be sure to include how many in your group Read for 15.
