Reading is an important life skill and our Summer Reading Program is designed to motivate you to read all summer long. For children, the Summer Reading Program will help reduce summer learning loss through creativity, discovery and FUN. Check out our assortment of programs, services and challenges to participate in over the summer. There is something for everyone!
Game On! - Open to Ages 6-12
Game On! This summer, let’s gather together to cheer each other on as we achieve our personal best. Whether we’re playing in the library, online, around a table or in a field, we’ll stretch our physical and mental limits and give it our best.
Game On! is open to children ages 6-12 and will be in-person. Each week will be a different theme and run over four days.
Ages 6-8 (1-2:30pm) * Ages 8-12 (3-4:30pm)
Sports theme: July 5-8 & August 3-5
Video Game theme: July 12-15 & August 9-12
Board Games theme: July 19-22 & August 16-19
Brain Games theme: July 29-29 & August 23-26

Story in the Park - Open to Families
This summer, join us in the park beside the library for Story in the Park. We will share with you and your family the joy of books provide engaging activities to build a love of reading.
Story in the Park is open to families and will run on Monday and Wednesday morning starting at 10:30am. Each session will have a different theme with a story, take-home craft and more! Pre-registration is required.
Travelling Tales - Open to Families
This summer we will be visiting some parks or playgrounds around town to share stories, games and activities!
Travelling Tales is open to families and will run on some Friday mornings starting at 10:30am. Each session will take place at a park/playground in town and have a different theme with stories, games and activities! Pre-registration is required.
Take Away Crafts - Open to All Ages
Enjoy these simple crafts at home, at grandma's house or while camping. Featuring a different craft each week in July and August, Take Away Crafts are open to all ages. Pre-registration is required.
Summer Reading Program Reading Logs - Open to All Ages
The Summer Reading Program is all about relaxing this summer by reading throughout July and August. Pick up a reading log at the Library or download here. Record the number of minutes you read on each day of the calendar and total up at the end of the month. You will receive ballots based on the amount you read and will be able to choose which draw to enter.
The more you read; the more times your name goes into the draws.
Under 9 years old: 1 ballot for every 3 hours (180 minutes)
Ages 10-13: 1 ballot for every 5 hours (300 minutes)
Ages 14-17: 1 ballot for every 7 hours (420 minutes)
Adults: 1 ballot for every 7 hours (420 minutes)
Read your way to a chance to win some great prizes.
You must have a valid Library Membership in order to win prizes. The reading logs need to be returned by September 2, 2021 to enter the draws.

Portal to the Past Scavenger Hunt
Search Portal to the Past to find the items on the Scavenger Hunt list and receive a ballot to enter the draws. You will receive an extra ballot if you have at least one answer form each decade (1910-2010). Portal to the Past has over 100 years of local newspapers digitized into a searchable database.
