Programs

Wainwright Public Library strives to provide quality programming for all ages.

Storytime

Storytime is an hour filled with stories, rhymes, songs, crafts and fun for 3-5 year olds. The program helps build the early literacy, listening and group participation skills required for successful school entry. A different theme each week provides an introduction to a variety of picture books. Children attend the program “on their own” and begin taking the important first steps of independence. *While this program is geared towards ages 3-5, younger children are welcome to register and participate as well. Children under the age of 3 will require a parent/guardian to stay.

Budding Bookworms

Play and Learn Together!
Families with children aged 2-7 can join us for stories, songs, movement, music and crafts. Budding Bookworms will provide fun and rich experiences that will build a love of books, libraries and reading.

Take Away Crafts

Take Away Craft Kits will provide engaging crafts/activities that younger children can complete together with their parent/caregiver. The craft kits will excite children’s imaginations and encourage creativity.
*While the Take Away Crafts tend to be geared towards pre-school and early elementary ages, any age may register.
This program requires registration and the kits can be picked up for children to be able to create the craft at home. Any kits not picked up by the end of the week will placed out on a first come, first pick up basis to anyone registered or not.

HeroQuest

Deep inside another dimension, face battling barbarians and evil magic on a quest for adventure in a maze of monsters. HeroQuest is a fantasy adventure game, where winning means mastering the art of combat and magic.

HeroQuest is Milton Bradley's approach to a Dungeons & Dragons-style adventure game. One player acts as game master, revealing the maze-like dungeon piecemeal as the players wander. Other players take on a character (wizard, elf, dwarf, or barbarian) and venture forth into dungeons on fantasy quests. Plastic miniatures and 3-D furniture make this game very approachable.

Join Brett Gooding as he acts as your game master on Thursdays starting at 4pm. This program will run every Thursday for 60-90 minutes.
